This keto-friendly burger is a delicious low-carb option that satisfies your cravings without breaking your diet. Instead of a traditional bun, we’ll use lettuce wraps to keep it keto-compliant while still delivering all the flavors of a classic burger. This recipe is easy to customize and perfect for lunch or dinner!

Ingredients:

  • Burger Patties:
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for optimal fat content)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (for cooking)
  • Toppings:
  • 4 large lettuce leaves (butter lettuce or iceberg works well)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 4 slices of tomato (optional for higher carb tolerance)
  • 2-4 slices of cooked bacon
  • Pickles
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • Keto Sauce (optional):
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp sugar-free ketchup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Burger Patties:
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until the seasonings are well incorporated into the meat.
  • Form the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
  1. Cook the Patties:
  • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add the olive oil or butter.
  • Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired doneness. If adding cheese, place the slices on the patties during the last minute of cooking to allow them to melt.
  1. Assemble the Burger:
  • Lay a large lettuce leaf on your plate to serve as the base.
  • Place the cooked burger patty on the lettuce.
  • Top with sliced avocado, bacon, tomato, onion, and pickles, if desired.
  • Drizzle with the keto sauce (mix the mayonnaise, mustard, and sugar-free ketchup) for extra flavor.
  • Add another lettuce leaf on top to complete your burger “bun.”
